New Pirelli Calendar To Have Fetish Theme And Feature Plus-Size Model – the 2015 edition of the world’s most famous calendar will have some unique features as it is the first time in its 50-year existence that Pirelli will have featured a plus-size model.

The calendar also promises to be a bit more steamy than normal as former Vogue Paris chief editor Carine Roitfeld, who is behind the styling this year, has gone for a fetish theme with lots of latex clothing on show.

The plus-size model featured in the 2015 calendar is 29-year old Candice Huffine who has been seen in a plus-size fashion special before when she joined models Robyn Lawley and Tara Lynn on the cover of Vogue Italia’s special “Curvy” issue in 2011.

Incidentally if you get the chance to meet Candice then you should know that she is not a fan of the term plus-size model: ‘I understand its existence, but I personally don’t use the term in my private life; I prefer curvy.’

Joining Candice in this year’s Pirelli calendar are Adrianna Lima, Natalia Vodianova, Raquel Zimmermann, Isabeli Fontana, Sasha Luss, Anna Ewers, Carolyn Murphy, Cameron Russell, Gigi Hadid, Karen Elson and Joan Smalls.

Although the fetish clothing is not to everyone’s taste it seems that one of the models was converted during the shoot with Gigi Hadid saying: ‘I’m wearing all latex in one shot, which is very cool. I’ve never worn latex before but everyone’s, like, telling me that it would suck because you get all sweaty and you can’t breathe. But I really like it and now I want latex leggings.’

The Pirelli calendar has always had something of an air of mystery as it is not available to buy either online or from a shop and it is sent out to a specially selected group of people. Nobody knows how to get on that list although if you aren’t very famous then selling plenty of Pirelli tyres is thought to give you a good chance of getting your hands on a calendar. This is why issues of the calendar often reach high prices when they come   up for sale on sites like eBay.

As well as the rarity value of the Pirelli calendar another thing that sets it apart from other calendars is the high quality of models who have featured on its glossy pages. Former Pirelli calendar girls include: Naomi Campbell, Sienna Miller, Gisele Bundchen, Cindy Crawford, Kate Moss, Penelope Cruz, Mila Jovovich, Heidi Klum, Mena Suvari, Miranda Kerr and Sophia Loren. Sophia Loren was actually the oldest person to appear in a Pirelli calendar when she posed for it back in 2007 at the age of 71-years old.

This year’s Pirelli calendar which has been shot by top fashion photographer Steven Meisel is going to be previewed in November.If you are on the list you will be getting a special delivery but for the rest of us it will be a wait for the fashion magazines to show us what we are missing.

Cara and Friends Showcase Latest La Perla Lingerie Range – Cara Delevigne and 2 of her model friends can be  seen in the latest lingerie range from La Perla.

The 21-year old  is probably the UK’s most in-demand model at the moment and like many famous models before her spends a fair amount of time in the media even when she is not working. When she is off-duty she can normally be seen in very low-fashion clothing so this makes her photo shoots seem even more glamorous looking.

In the press releases for the La Perla 2014 Spring/Summer lingerie range Cara is seen wearing the Sparkling Jasmine lingerie set. This features a sexy satin and lace black design and she also wears a see-through chiffon top.

In contrast to the undoubtedly attractive but less curvy Cara, La Perla also uses the more womanly 36-year old Polish model Malgosia Bela to showcase its latest lingerie range. Malgosia, who is shown modelling a Heritage bustier, has also spent time working as an actress as well as appearing in the iconic Pirelli Calendar.

Joining Malgosia and Cara is Liu Wen, the 25-year old who has been described by many as China’s first supermodel.

Liu Wen is seen wearing La Perla’s see-through Paisley Body and we would guess that her star will only rise higher next year after 2013 saw her become the first ever Asian model to make it into the Forbes highest paid models list.

Hot Calendars For 2014 – December is nearly upon us and it is time to decide who we should look at for 2014, well at least as far as a new calendar is concerned.

Here is a choice of some of the best hot calendars for 2014 with photos from the new calendars from Kate Upton, Kelly Brook, Helen Flanagan and from Strictly a couple of calendars from Ola Jordan and Kristina Rihanoff.

If the photo of UK glamour model Lucy Pinder looks familiar it seems to be an almost exact recreation of one of Kate Upton’s photos from her ‘wet t-shirt session.’

Kelly Brook Channels Sophia Loren In Calendar Photo – the model and tv presenter has shared a photo from her 2014 calendar today and it is a definite reminder of an earlier photo.

The 33-year old Celebrity Juice panellist posted the photo on her Twitter account today and captioned it ‘Va Va Voom #SophiaLoren Inspired Shoot today.’

If you haven’t seen the earlier photos of the stunning Sophia Loren before then have a look here and you can see that she was really quite something. In fact if you look at any recent photos of the Italian beauty you will see that despite being in her late 70’s she still has a figure that can turn heads.

Sophia looked in great form at the end of last year when she helped launch the 2013 Pirelli Calendar in Rio. She is well-known for being the oldest woman to ever appear in the legendary fashion and glamour calendar at the age of 72.

Kelly is seen as one of the few models to possess a natural curvy figure in the Sophia Loren mould and it was clearly this quality that the stylists and photographers wanted to bring out in their latest photo shoot.

 

Natalie Portman’s Nude Photo Shoot and Weekend Wedding, Olympics Stars Amongst New Strictly Competitors

Natalie Portman Goes Nude for Dior Campaign – the newly married Oscar-winning actress has bared all for a new Christian Dior beauty campaign.

The 31-year old actress married Benjamin Millepied at a traditional Jewish ceremony in Big Sur, California at the weekend. The wedding was held at a private property in the coastal town and amongst the 60 guests who were mostly family there were a few showbiz pals including Macaulay Culkin and Ivanka Trump.

Natalie met 35-year old choreographer Benjamin while she was shooting her Oscar-winning role in the movie Black Swan. The couple have a son Aleph, who was born in June last year.

Natalie appears to be quite relaxed shooting naked photo campaigns for Dior as she has already appeared topless wearing just a black headband when promoting the Miss Dior Cherie fragrance.

This time out Natalie is promoting the new Diorskin Nude cosmetics range. This new cosmetics brand will be available in the UK from 14 September and is described by Dior as giving the wearer a very natural look.

One of the most innovative features of the new range are the lipsticks which are described as not colouring the lips but making them blush for a more natural appearance.

The photos for Natalie’s naked Dior shoot were taken by Italian fashion photographer Mario Sorrenti, who is best known for his nude shoots for top fashion mags Harper’s Bazaar and Vogue. Sorrenti also shot this year’s Pirelli Calendar.

Sports Stars Eyed for New Strictly Series – it looks like BBC bosses want to get as many of Team GB’s Olympic heroes involved in the next series of the dance show as they possibly can.

They hope to get cycling gold medallist Victoria Pendleton signed up for the new series very soon. Pendleton won the women’s keirin finals on Friday and is due to retire from cycling after these Olympics. Victoria is certainly not shy of showing off her body as she has already posed nude for GQ magazine so she should have no problem with the revealing Strictly outfits.

Anyone watching the coverage of the Olympics swimming events will not be surprised to hear that Rebecca Adlington is also rumoured to be part of the next Strictly line-up. After her medal winning performances in the pool she seemed to take a big part of her BBC interview talking about how she had always wanted to be involved with Strictly Come Dancing. Anyone cynical out there might think that the deal was probably struck before Rebecca even dipped her toe in the Olympic pool.

Other possible competitors for the next Strictly series include broadcaster Chris Evans, TV presenter Fern Britton, former Westlife singer Nicky Byrne and former England cricket captain Michael Vaughan. It had been thought earlier that Dannii Minogue would take part to upset former lover Simon Cowell but her spokesperson said this week that the Australian singer would “definitely not be taking part” in the show.

Another Olympic name being talked of as a possible competitor is medal-winning gymnast Beth Tweddle. A BBC spokesperson said to The Sun: “The bosses have made it clear their priority is to secure as many London 2012 competitors as possible.

“The Games are by far the biggest event of the year and they want to reflect that by getting some big sporting names on board. The attitude is that if someone has won a gold medal, we should be considering them.”

Now if this is true surely the biggest possible Strictly draw would be the very hot Jessica Ennis. the golden girl of UK sport would certainly ensure very good ratings for the dance show especially during the weeks when she was wearing the skimpy Latin outfits.

 

Gisele Bundchen, Aishwarya Rai In London

Gisele Bundchen – the Brazilian has today been announced as the highest paid model in the world with earnings of $45 million.

This put Gisele way ahead of 2nd placed Kate Moss who Forbes magazine estimated earned $9.3 million mostly through deals with Topshop, Mango, Longchamp and Rimmel.

The list shows that the high-earning world of supermodels is not a young girls game with Gisele at 31-years old and Kate 38-years old. Both are also married and mothers to young families with Gisele recently announcing that she and her husband, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, are expecting their second child.

Gisele’s massive income comes from big contracts with Versace, H&M, Pantene  and Esprit. She also has a wide range of Brazilian business interests such as beauty products and the popular range of Ipanema flip-flops which add to her income.

She has been a major figure since the 90’s and apart from appearing in the Pirelli calendar (2001 and 2006) and gaining a record-breaking $25m contract with lingerie brand Victorias Secret Bunchen has also been seen on all the world’s top magazine covers. In fact she has graced the cover of more than 600 different magazines over her career so far, a figure only exceeded by Princess Diana.

Having topped the Forbes list since 2007 it is no surprise that the world’s Number 1 supermodel has also been named the Vogue Model of the Year, the Top Model Icon of All-Time (models.com),  and in 2007 Rolling Stone Magazine called Bundchen The Most Beautiful Girl in the World.

Aishwarya Rai – the stunning Bollywood star was amongst a celebrity crowd invited to the opening of London’s latest luxury hotel last night.

The Bulgari in the heart of Knightsbridge is certainly not a hotel for those with short arms and long pockets. Double rooms at the new hotel start at £600 and for that price you don’t even get breakfast as part of the deal! The hotel has a luxury spa, 25m indoor pool, hi-tech gym and a 47 seater private cinema.

Aishwarya who is 38-years old recently gave birth to a daughter and has received some very unflattering press coverage back in India for not losing her “baby pounds” as fast as others such as Beyonce. She was even called fat in one of the Indian press headlines and has a video of her accompanied by the sound of elephants. All of this is a far cry from her earlier treatment by the India media where she was seen as the most beautiful woman in the world and was often described as “The Goddess.” In fact Aishwarya was actually crowned Miss World in 1994 before her movie career began,

Aishwarya seems quite relaxed about her recent media treatment saying that the most important thing to her at the moment is being a mother and enjoying time with her new baby daughter. She said: ‘(Motherhood) is wonderful. You ask the question and I beam!’

‘It’s splendid… It’s inexplicable.The joy, the bliss, is wonderful. A smile from my daughter and that’s it! She’s good. She’s great.’

Aishwarya has appeared in a number of big Bollywood movies during her career, the most famous being 2002’s Devdas which won critical acclaim beyond the usual Indian market. Time magazine has named the movie as one of the Top 10 movies of the millennium. The soundtrack is even more well-thought of than the usual  Bollywood productions and famously features the song Dola re Dola which appears in the movie as a dance duet with Aishwarya and Madhuri Dixit.

At last night’s Bulgari opening Aishwarya appeared very relaxed chatting to Slumdog Millionaire star Dev Patel. She wore a traditional Indian outfit in black, gold and cream designed by acclaimed Indian fashion designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee.

Other stars at the Bulgari opening included Holly Valance, Isabella Rossellini, Florence Welch, Rosamund Pike and model Petra Nemcova.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Dermot O’Leary – What’s Hot and What’s Trending 14 February 2012 (Valentine’s Day)

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley – the 24-year old lingerie model and actress has been named as the Style Icon of the Year at the Elle Style Awards.

The awards ceremony was held last night at the Savoy Hotel in London and as you might expect all of the attendees really pulled out the style stops with their outfits for the evening. Rosie wore a silver and nude dress designed by Antonio Beradi, who is also a favourite designer of Florence Welch (who won the award for Best Music Act), Sarah Jessica Parker, Beyonce and Kate Bosworth.

5ft 9in Rosie has worked as a model for Victoria’s Secret lingerie collections as well as other modelling work for Burberry. She has also posed nude for the 2010 Pirelli calendar although she is probably best known in the UK for her role as Carly Spencer in the 2011 movie “Transformers: Dark of the Moon.”

Rosie is currently going out with Jason Statham having previously dated Olivier Martinez and Ronnie Wood’s son Tyrone.

Other award winners on the evening included Best Actress for Michelle Williams, Best Actor for Eddie Redmayne, Best TV Star for Christina Hendricks (she would have also have won Best Cleavage if that was a category!), International Designer of the Year for Sarah Burton and Best Model for Isabeli Fontana another previous Victoria’s Secret model.

Dermot O’Leary – the X Factor presenter has been named as women’s top Valentine choice.

Freeview, the digital tv company,  asked 2000 people who they would most like to be their tv Valentine and 14% of women picked Dermot as the man they wanted to come home to. He ended up with over double the votes of second-placed Benedict Cumberbatch who of course plays Sherlock on tv. Coming in 3rd place is Strictly winner McFly’s drummer Harry Judd. X Factor men did rather well in the poll as Dermot’s boss Simon Cowell ended up in 7th place.

Any women hoping that Dermot might actually turn up for their Valentine’s Day date are going to be unlucky as he has just got engaged to long-term girlfriend Dee Koppang as announced on the X Factor at the end of last year.

In the poll for men’s top Valentine date another tv presenter triumphed with Holly Willoughby coming out a strong winner. She managed to get 16% of the votes which is a good sign for her new Surprise Surprise series as it probably means it will attract a good number of male viewers. Dr Who sidekick Karen Gillan came in 2nd in the poll with more good news for Simon Cowell as Xtra Factor host Caroline Flack secured 3rd place.

A spokesperson for Freeview said of the poll: “It’s clear TV presenters provide an extra reason to tune in and watch TV and a candlelit dinner at home and watching a romantic film is the perfect Valentine’s Day date – it’s easier on the pocket than a trip out to the cinema or to a restaurant.”

There is a nice link between the two winners of the top Valentine’s Day date as Dermot O’Leary was an usher at Holly Willoughby’s wedding at Amberley Castle in August 2007.
