The 10 Hottest Strictly Competitors

Hottest Strictly Competitors – just before Christmas the BBC released a list of the top scoring Strictly Come Dancing competitors since the series started in 2004. With this in mind we thought it would be a good idea to have a list of the hottest looking Strictly competitors to go with it.

A number of those chosen have been picked according to the hits on our site so sorry if we have missed out one of your favourites. We guess you just didn’t look at their articles often enough!

Natasha Kaplinsky

Natasha Kaplinsky showing cleavage in low-cut dress. Former BBC newsreader, Sky News presenter and winner of the first series of StrictlyThe hottest looking woman in the first series of Strictly in 2004 was newsreader Natasha Kaplinsky. Ten years ago things were very different for both Natasha and her professional partner Brendan Cole who were considered to have got rather close during their time training together. Some things never change in Strictlyland as this sort of rumour has been the stuff of Strictly gossip in every series since.

Natasha was 31-years old at the time of her Strictly triumph and was co-hosting the BBC’s Breakfast programme whilst she was on the show. Although she looked like she was enjoying herself Natasha revealed some years after her time on the show that she had been forced to take part by the BBC.

She did make a return to the show in the second series but in a different role when she stood in as a co-presenter whilst Tess Daly was on maternity leave.

To see how far the show has come since it first started winner Natasha’s average score throughout the first series was just 33 points which for the last few years would not even have been enough to have got her to the final stages of the competition. The newsreader has admitted herself that she would not have got too far in the competition if she was involved in any of the more recent series of Strictly.

Unusually Natasha’s highest scoring dance came in week 5 when she scored 37 points for her samba. Her top scoring dance in week 8’s final was her quickstep which the judges awarded 36 points.

Ultimate Yummy Mummy, Rachel Stevens Named FHM Sexiest Woman Of All-Time – What’s Hot and What’s Trending 4 June 2014

Rachel Stevens - Yummy Mummy in sexy see-through black lingerie for FHM. Sexiest Woman of all-time winnerUltimate Yummy Mummy, Rachel Stevens Named FHM Sexiest Woman Of All-Time – the 36-year old mother of two has not only been named FHM’s Sexiest Woman of All-Time but surely wins the title of the Ultimate Yummy Mummy.

The former S Club 7 singer and Strictly Come Dancing competitor seems an unlikely winner at first glance as she has actually never won the FHM Sexiest Woman Award but on closer inspection you quickly find out that she has been a firm favourite for many years, appearing on the Hot 100 List some 11 times, been runner-up 3 times and has also been the FHM cover girl on 8 occasions since 2000.

The FHM Top 10 Sexiest Women Of All-Time makes an interesting read and shows that many mens tastes have moved away from younger women in recent years. In fact the average age of the Top 10 comes in at just a shade under 37 years old with 27-year old busty glamour model Keeley Hazell being the only woman in the Top 10 who is under 30.

The Top 10 contains 4 women from the UK and 6 from America (if they wish to claim Anna Kournikova) with half of the list being mothers. 7 of the list either are now, or have previously been, married with one (Anna Kournikova again) not confirming her marital status (possibly unmarried, maybe married twice!).

Rachel celebrated her win with a new set of photos for FHM that show her posing in some revealing black lingerie as well as one photo showing her lying topless wearing just a pair of black French knickers. The cover photo shows her in a set of matching black lingerie with black stockings. Read the rest of this entry »

Elle Style Awards – What’s Hot and What’s Trending 11 February 2013

Elle Style Awards – after all the focus on music and movie awards it was the turn of fashion at the Elle Style Awards held at the Savoy Hotel in London.

One of the big fashion hits of the night was the former S Club singer and Strictly Come Dancing competitor 34-year old Rachel Stevens. She showed that sometimes all you need to really impress anyone is a classy black dress. Rachel’s black dress featured a low-cut front matched with a slit going to just above her knee.

Another winner was the young BAFTA-winning actress Juno Temple who arrived in a military style black outfit.

Looking very pleased to be back on the red carpet was Hollywood actress Kate Hudson who dressed to impress in a striking red gown that featured nude panels down the side to show off her trim figure.

Someone who decided to not go the traditional long dress route for the evening was Strictly and 2013 presenter and recent Celebrity Bake Off competitor the quirky Claudia Winkleman. She decided to go for a man’s style suit with a see-through blouse underneath and strangely finishing the whole look off with a pair of white heels. Read the rest of this entry »

Strictly Christmas Special – What’s Hot and What’s Trending Christmas Day 2012

Strictly Christmas Special - Winners JB Gill and Ola JordanStrictly Come Dancing Christmas Special – JB Gill form JLS won this year’s Strictly Christmas Special together with his professional dance partner Ola Jordan.

The singer and the lovely Ola were the first pairing on the floor for the festive special and they certainly impressed the judges with their jive to “Rockin’ Robin.’

Bruno said of their jive: ‘Oh yes you set it all off with a real cracker of a Jive. The talent and energy of a young buck. Excellent.’

Head judge Len Goodman was equally impressed saying: ‘JB… I tell you that stands for Jive Bunny. You were bopping. It was full on. For one week’s training, that was fantastic.’

No doubt the rest of the celebrities appearing on the dance show would have hoped for a less high-scoring start to the show as JB and Ola scored a total of 39 points from the judging panel with only the hard to please Craig not scoring a maximum.

Other pairings on the show included comedian Bobby Ball who was dancing an American Smooth to the very festive White Christmas with his partner Katya Virshilas.

One competitor who scored much higher than was expected was 79-year old actress Sheila Hancock who danced a lovely Foxtrot to Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas with her professional partner Ian Waite. The judges were all impressed with her performance with Bruno saying that she proved that age was just a number. The pair scored a total of 36 points from the judges even getting a couple of maximums from Len and Bruno.

One much-anticipated performance came from the Blue Peter presenter and daredevil explorer Helen Skelton. Apart from her reputation for adventuring Helen was also in this year’s FHM 100 Sexiest Women In The World list. She had said before the show was aired that she was worried that the outfit they wanted her to wear was not sufficient to contain her ample breasts as she performed a cartwheel during the routine. 29-year old Helen complained that they wanted to send her out in just a bra and this was not enough to contain her DD’s so eventually got a bit more support to help her stay safe during her cartwheel.

Helen Skelton showing off impressive DD cleavage - Blue Peter presenterYou can see from this shot of Helen’s impressive cleavage that her dance outfit needed to have some serious support!

Helen was paired with ladies favourite pro-dancer Artem Chigvintsev and they danced an energetic jive to All I Want For Christmas. The outfit proved substantial enough to keep Helen’s assets in place but their performance was not enough to triumph on the might although there must now be many viewers hoping that the Blue Peter presenter signs up for the next full series of the show.

One competitor on the Strictly Christmas Special who got a very warm welcome was ex-professional footballer Fabrice Muamba whose heart stopped for 78 minutes during an FA Cup match when he suffered a heart attack earlier in the year. He got a great reception from the audience and some good comments from the judges but his Salsa with partner Aliona Vilani did not prove to be enough to wrestle the title away from JB.

The programme also included a special routine featuring a number of previous Strictly competitors including Rachel Stevens, Kelly Brook, Tom Chambers, Chelsee Healey and the winner of the first ever series of Strictly, Natasha Kaplinski.

Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Show Line-Up, Miranda Hart’s Sexy Photshoot For Tatler – What’s Hot and What’s Trending 25 November 2012

Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Show Line-Up – there are a host of previous Strictly celebrities coming back for the Christmas Special as well as some new faces.

The two new faces this Christmas will be singer JB from JLS and Fabrice Muamba, the former Bolton Wanderers footballer who suffered a heart attack while playing in an FA Cup match against Tottenham in March this year. Fabrice has recently revealed that he turned down an approach from ITV to appear on Dancing On Ice.

Former celebrities returning to the show include newsreader Natasha Kaplinsky, the winner of the first Strictly series in 2004 with pro partner Brendan Cole. There have always been rumours that the two were more than a little close during their time training and to avoid any embarrassment they have been paired with other dancers for this year’s Christmas Special.

Other former Strictly celebrities making a return this Christmas will include former runners-up Kara Tointon (no doubt she will be dancing with boyfriend Artem Chigvintsev) and Rachel Stevens who danced with Vincent Simone in the 2008 series.

Also returning to the Strictly dancefloor will be Kelly Brook who sadly had to leave the 2007 series early after her father Kenneth died from lung cancer part-way through the competition. Kelly has been seen dancing in a different style in the last few weeks as she has taken to the stage to perform nude with the French cabaret act Crazy Horse. Kelly obviously enjoyed her time on stage as she has said: ‘My whole Crazy Horse experience was really empowering and I feel really sexy.’

The other competitors this Christmas will include Chris Hollins, who won the 2009 series with Ola Jordan and Chelsee Healey who was partnered by Pasha Kovalev when she was a runner-up in last year’s series. The final celebrity is Colin Jackson who was a runner-up in 2005 when he danced with Erin Boag.

Although it has not yet been officially confirmed the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special will almost certainly be shown on BBC1 on Christmas Day.

Miranda Hart’s Sexy Tatler Photoshoot – the famously awkward comedienne will shock a lot of people this week when they see her glammed up image in Tatler.

The 6ft 1in comedienne has almost made a career out of the fact that she looks far from glamorous and has often been mistaken for a man in the sketches in her BBC series Miranda.

She has been known to have been on a diet over the last few months and has been seen on a number of occasions cycling around town. She said last year that she aimed to lose around 3 stone during 2012 and it looks from the evidence in the Tatler photos that she has done just that.

Miranda apparently tired of the constant references to her size in the wake of the success of her tv series. She said: ‘As a woman, it seems you can’t just be a comedian, you’re always classed as something else too, whether that’s “beautiful”, “pint-sized”, “larger-than-life” or in my case “Hattie Jacques-esque”, “the giraffe”, “big”. ‘I’m quite a confident person in many ways, but there’s only so much you can hear about being compared to Hattie Jacques.’

For her new Tatler photoshoot Miranda got fully into the whole stylist thing although she did say that she refused to wear heels as with her height they would make her about 6ft 5in tall.

In case you are wondering that is a wig that Miranda is wearing in the photo here as her own hair is much shorter.

Although she must be delighted with the results of the photos Miranda said of her transformation: ‘I think it’s more Claudia Winkleman meets Samantha Cameron meets Princess Anne with added Cher.’

The new series of Miranda (the 3rd) is due to start next month on BBC1 and the edition of Tatler featuring Miranda goes on sale this Thursday.

Rear of the Year Winners, World’s Most Valuable Movie Poster

Rear of the Year – this year’s winners of the Wizard Jeans Rear of the Year Award are Shobna Gulati and John Barrowman.

They will hold the title for a year and take over from last year’s winners Loose Women’s Carol Vorderman and Anton du Beke from Strictly Come Dancing.

Shobna Gulati is now better known as Sunita Alahan in ITV’s Coronation Street but was first spotted on our screens as the dappy Anita in Victoria Wood’s Dinnerladies, which ran from 1998 to 2000. She also has the rare distinction of being of the few people to have appeared in both Coronation Street and its BBC rival Eastenders where she played the part of Ameena Badawi in 2000.

Shobna credits her mother as being responsible for her top-rated bottom. She said: “I am really honoured and flattered to be a winner of this year’s competition and for my bum to be etched into the history of the award’s alumni – a list which includes so many other distinguished bottoms.”

“And I’d also like to say thanks – in the words of, ‘I got it from my mama’.”

Doctor Who and Torchwood star John Barrowman clearly got a huge amount of votes from his admirers and Wizard Jeans spokeswoman Sally Allen said: “John’s rear is clearly admired on an international basis, judging by the number of fans who voted for him. No doubt his dancing prowess helps to keep him in tremendous shape.”

There have been many well-known winners of the Rear of the Year Award since it was first handed out to Barbara Windsor in 1976. It was originally conceived as a one-off award but caught the public’s imagination and Felicity Kendall was given the accolade in 1981. From that date it became a more regular thing and apart from the odd gap awards were given out annually.

Here is the full list of Female Rear of the Year Award Winners:

  • Barbara Windsor in 1976
  • Felicity Kendall in 1981
  • Suzi Quatro in 1982
  • Lulu in 1983
  • Elaine Page in 1984
  • Lynsey de Paul in 1985
  • Anneka Rice in 1986
  • Anita Dobson in 1987
  • Su Pollard in 1988
  • Marina Ogilvy in 1991
  • Ulrika Jonsson in 1992
  • Sarah Lancashire in 1993
  • Mandy Smith in 1994
  • Tracy Shaw in 1996
  • Melinda Messenger in 1997
  • Carol Smillie in 1998
  • Denise van Outen in 1999
  • Jane Danson in 2000
  • Claire Sweeney in 2001

  • Nell McAndrew in 2005
  • Javine Hylton in 2006
  • Sian Lloyd in 2007
  • Jennifer Ellison in 2008
  • Rachel Stevens in 2009
  • Fiona Bruce in 2010
  • Carol Vorderman in 2011

World’s Most Valuable Movie Poster – a poster that was produced for the Fritz Lang 1927 classic sci-fi movie Metropolis is set to break its own record at auction.

The poster by German artist Heinz Schulz-Neudamm sold for a world record $690k (£443k) in 2005 when it was bought by collector Kenneth Schacter. Now Mr Schacter has filed for bankruptcy and the poster (which he has valued at just $250k in his official papers) is expected to reach as much as $1m at auction. The American movie poster expert Sean Linkenback has called the poster “”the crown jewel of the poster world”.

Metropolis was written by movie director Fritz Lang and his wife Thea Von Harbou and takes place in 2026 in a futuristic dystopian society with huge differences in wealth between the wealthy people living in huge tower blocks and the workers who exist underground.

The movie has some impressive special effects for its time and has a very Art Deco feel to the buildings in the city. The movie struggled a little when it was first released due to the long run time and some scenes which worried the censor. There are a number of shots in the film where you might be  surprised to see women’s’ breasts clearly visible under see-through clothing and there is also an erotic dance scene which features a robot version of Maria, the film’s heroine.

The film was severely cut after release and over the years much of the original footage was lost. In 2008 an original copy of the movie was found in an Argentinian museum and a large amount of money was spent on restoring ll the reels of film to perfect condition. Following the restoration a full-length version of Metropolis was shown on large screens in Berlin and Frankfurt in February 2010.

The movie is certainly worth watching in its new restored version and it has influenced many directors over the years. Just watch Bladerunner and Tim Burton’s Batman to see how much influence Metropolis has had on the science fiction movies that followed it. You can also see a further reference to the film if you look at Star Wars C3P0 after watching the robots in Metropolis.

You even have seen clips from the movie without knowing it as Queen used a lot of footage from the film to provide atmosphere in the video for their 1984 hit Radio Ga Ga. They had to pay money to the East German government for the right to use the Metropolis footage as they were the copyright holders at the time.

It may be that another movie poster takes the most expensive crown as there is also an extremely rare copy of  the poster for the brilliant 1933 King Kong, starring Fay Wray, in Schacter’s collection. In fact the entire collection may have a value as high as $5m but at the present time Schacter is not co-operating with the bankruptcy officials who have asked many times for an inventory of his collection.
