George Clooney’s Wedding Hotel In Venice – the handsome actor is about to marry his beautiful British human rights lawyer girlfriend Amal Alamuddin in Venice this weekend.
The couple are said to have chosen the ultra-exclusive Aman Canal Grande Hotel in Venice to host their reception. This gets a 7-star rating and rooms start at around £1k a night with larger suites going for more than 3 times that price.
The wedding is looking like being the year’s big social affair to be invited to as most of George’s Hollywood pals seem to be on the guest list. Among those expected to arrive in Venice over the next few hours are Brad Pitt (one of George’s closest friends) and his wife Angelina Jolie-Pitt, supermodel Cindy Crawford and Oscar-winning actress Cate Blanchett.
Unlike George and his new bride to be, the famous guests are not expected to be staying at the Aman Grande Canal as it is believed that George and Amal have also taken over the exclusive Cipriani Hotel on Giudecca Island, reached by private motor launch, as guest accommodation for the wedding weekend.
Not only have the couple taken over the top 2 hotels in Venice they also appear to have arranged for the Grand Canal to be closed off for the weekend. Now that is some serious power (or money?) when you can get one of the world’s top tourist locations closed for your wedding celebrations.
The choice of Venice as a wedding destination surprised many people as it was expected that George would get married at or near his superb home the Villa Oleandra in Laglio on the banks of Lake Como. Movie fans may well recognise the actor’s lakeside home as he used it to film parts of the movie Oceans Twelve.
Apart from the destination and the possible guests the other big question that people want answered is just who has designed the bride’s wedding dress? Like the choice of hotel for reception there are also 2 likely answers to the question as both Alexander McQueen and Stella McCartney seem to be favourite choices of the bride and she has been seen with items from both designers in the last few days.
