Claudia Winkleman Takes Something Off For Strictly – the new Strictly co-host is clearly taking her latest high-profile presenting job very seriously as she has revealed she has taken something off that famous fringe of hers in readiness for her new role.
In an interview with the Radio Times Claudia said ‘a very long fringe over dough balls in Pizza Express when you’re flirting with your husband is one thing. It’s different if you’re connecting with an audience and expecting them to watch. I cut it out of respect for them.’
It seems that the decision to have her fringe snipped was all her own and she was not acting on BBC orders. Claudia said that the Strictly production team had not told her to get her fringe trimmed as they were “too sweet” but she thought that they would think it a “good thing” that she had got it done.
The magazine article also shows the first official photo of the Tess Daly-Claudia Winkleman presenting partnership. As well as debuting her new look hair there is also a rare sighting of Claudia in a glamorous dress.
Claudia has spoken before about her kooky choice of clothing and eye make-up and how she likes to wear things that keep her “hidden, physically.”
The new promo photo certainly doesn’t appear to feature her in her normal choice of clothing as she is wearing a very attractive off the shoulder red evening gown that really doesn’t keep her “hidden, physically”.
Claudia didn’t always shy away from showing her body as you can see from this early photo of her when she was helping launch a new range of Motorola mobile phones.
Claudia clearly gets on well with Tess Daly and the pair genuinely seem to enjoy their time together on-screen. Their contrasting styles should ensure that there is something to please everyone with Tess being much more straightforward in her delivery whilst we can rely on Claudia for plenty of off the wall comments as the new Strictly series gets going.
As well as admiring her as a presenter Claudia is a fan of Tess in other ways saying of her glamorous co-host ‘She’s got the best body you’ve ever seen in your life.’
You can see how the first mainstream BBC television pairing of 2 women presenters get on when the new Strictly series starts this Sunday at 8pm on BBC1. We confidently predict that Tess and Claudia will silence any critics they may have and help the show move on after the departure of Bruce Forsyth.
