Rita Ora Has Sexiest Outfit While Nicki Minaj Has Raunchiest Stage Performance At VMAs – this year’s MTV Video Music Awards proved yet again that at least as much thought goes into the outfits as it does the music.
You can always be sure that there is a long line of people trying to shock the crowd with the most controversial outfit and as we saw last year with the Miley Cyrus stage performance the shocking doesn’t stop there.
This year the most revealing outfit was probably worn by actress Amber Rose whose “barely-there” chain mail outfit was inspired by the completely see-through chain mail and mesh dress worn by Charmed actress Rose McGowan at the 1998 VMAs. Although not quite as openly revealing as McGowan’s outfit Amber Rose’s silver outfit did show off the 30-year old’s assets which could be summarised by the expression “T&A”.
Despite not showing as much flesh as the Amber Rose outfit UK singer Rita Ora was seen by many observers as wearing the evening’s sexiest outfit. She wore a red satin dress that was backless and had a very low-cut front with thin straps and a slit up her left leg that went well above the top of her thigh. The flimsy material combined with the high leg split seemed to confirm to onlookers that it was unlikely the singer was able to wear any underwear with the outfit.
Rita’s biggest competition for the night’s sexiest outfit came from Beyonce, who wore a semi-sheer black number with a cobweb design. It was a great night for the singer who was nominated in almost every category and looked very pleased to be at the event.
Rita’s other rival for sexiest outfit was Jennifer Lopez who wore a silver Charbel Zoe cut-out dress and looked in amazing shape.
As far as the unofficial award from the night’s raunchiest performance that easily went to Nicki Minaj whose stage show left Rita Ora and another of others watching on open-mouthed. During her rendition of her song Anaconda she grabbed her crotch dropped to the floor and was seen in a simulated sex act with one of her backing dancers. Such was the expression on Rita Ora’s face whilst all this was going on that someone has made an animated GIF and shared it on Twitter.
Here is a list of the night’s top awards showing just why Beyonce looked happier than she has in a long while.
