Cougar Carol Vorderman Getting All Wet For The Ice Bucket Challenge – the 53-year old former Loose Women host has become the latest in a long line of celebrities around the world to help raise money and awareness for Motor Neurone Disease research by taking part in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge.
Carol decided to take things a little further than most of the other celebrities who have taken the challenge by having 2 fire engines soak her with 2 thousand litres of water straight after she had a bucket of ice water thrown over her.
Although not quite as daring as the outfit model Daisy Lowe wore for her recent Ice Bucket Challenge , which she wore with very little underwear, Carol decided on a white dress which soon became see-through with the amount of water thrown at it.
After her soaking Carol posted the following on her @Carol Vorders Twitter account;
Home and dry, with a lovely curry waiting … xx ps granny pants were
@superdry boy shorts
and very practical today
Carol was nominated for her Ice Bucket Challenge by the RAF’s Red Arrows Red Ten team member.
Carol chose Gloucester Airport as the venue for her dousing as she has been spending much of her time there in recent months in preparation for her upcoming round the world solo flight. It was all the training required for this round the world flight that was behind Carol’s recent decision to give up her co-hosting role on ITV’s Loose Women programme. She has been on the show for some 3 years but decided that as she couldn’t give it the proper level of attention it was not right to continue, although she hasn’t ruled out the odd return to cover holidays and sickness.
Carol is famed for having a great figure and last month she won the 2014 Rear of the Year Award becoming the first person to win the award on 2 separate occasions having previously won the title back in 2011.Carol said of the accolade ‘‘I am both surprised and flattered to win the award for a second time – particularly at this stage of my life.’
The Rear of the Year Award now has both a male and female winner each year (this year’s male winner was Olly Murs) but initially the award was only made to a woman. The first winner of the Rear of the Year title was Carry On star Barbara Windsor in 1976, although it didn’t become an annual award until 1981 after The Good Life’s sex symbol Felicity Kendal won the title.
One person who is sure to have enjoyed seeing Carol get soaking wet and end up in a see-through dress is One Direction star Harry Styles. Harry is known for his love of older women and has referred to Carol as “the ultimate cougar.” He is quoted as having “fancied the pants” off the 53-year old for years and has said he would love to ask her out on a date but is afraid of being turned down.
