Buffy Star Posts Nude Photo To Celebrate Her Birthday – Buffy The Vampire Slayer star Charisma Carpenter celebrated her 44th birthday by showing what amazing shape she is in and posting a totally nude photo.
Charisma is best-known for her role as cheerleader Cordelia Chase in hit series Buffy The Vampire Slayer and its follow-on series Angel. The character is viewed as showing considerable personal growth over the course of the 2 series and indeed Cordelia is often referred to as Queen C. The relationship between her character and Sarah Michelle Gellar’s title character provides a lot of the programme’s cut and thrust.
In fact it was Sarah Michelle Gellar who was originally cast in the role of Cordelia and Charisma who was initially going for the title role of Buffy but due to arriving late for that audition read for the role of Cordelia instead.
It is no surprise to many of her fans that Charisma is still in such great shape as she posed naked for Playboy magazine in 2004 at the end of her stint as Cordelia in Angel. As well as securing the Playboy cover there were also plenty of hot photos of Charisma in a 10-page feature inside the magazine.
She later said of the Playboy nude photos: ‘I did Playboy for a very specific reason. Not only was it a good financial move, but it was about the place I was at in my life. I had just had my son and I’d gained 50 lbs. during pregnancy. I wanted to get back to my old self. I wanted to feel desirable and sexy. So I thought, What if I went full throttle?’
Although Charisma is understandably proud of her body there is one feature that she is less proud of. Her name was given to her by her parents Christine and Don after an Avon perfume.
Buffy The Vampire Slayer fans live in hope that the series will return to tv screens at some stage. Just last year Sarah Michelle Gellar said she had been involved in talks with Buffy creator Joss Whedon about a possible new series of the show but nothing more has been heard about this project. It is not any surprise as Whedon is incredibly busy with a multi-faceted career as a screenwriter, comic book author, director, producer, actor and composer. As well as his work on Buffy and Angel Whedon also wrote and directed The Avengers (2012) and co-wrote Toy Story (1995).
