Seems The Ski Slope Is Sexier Than The Dancefloor – this year’s Strictly Come Dancing doesn’t seem to have come up with any new romances but it looks like C4’s The Jump has managed 2 in its short run.
Despite 2 relationships (Susanna Reid and Rachel Riley) ending shortly after the latest Strictly series finished there have been no revelations of any hot romances being sparked by the dance show. The Jump however seems to have lit a couple of flames.
Former Page 3 model Melinda Messenger has been speaking about her new relationship with Warren Smith, one of the professional ski instructors involved with the latest daredevil reality show.
Melinda said of her new relationship with free skier Warren ‘Yes, there is a new man in my life. It’s all really good. We’re very happy and it’s nice for the kids that things have moved on.’
Melinda’s time on The Jump was cut short after she suffered concussion whilst practising for the bobsleigh and was told to withdraw on medical advice. She did talk about what a buzz she found all of the training saying she found it ‘an amazing adrenaline hit’ and it now seems that she may well have had another reason for enjoying herself in the snow.
As well as Melinda’s new romance it has also been rumoured that was another couple of contestants in The Jump who got very close during their time filming the show. Former cricketer Darren Gough and TOWIE’s Amy Childs were described in the Daily Mail by a friend of Amy’s as having become close and having had a great time together in Austria whilst on The Jump. ‘Amy thought he was charismatic and charming, and they got on really well, but he is not her type. He is 20 years older than her.’
Whatever happened or didn’t happen during their time in Austria we do know that when he returned home Gough’s marriage to was confirmed by him as being over just after stories of his alleged affair with Amy Childs were hitting the press.
So with 1 definite and another possible it looks like a possible 2 to nil in favour of The Jump if it is going up against Strictly in the romance stakes this year. Perhaps the extra spice may just be enough to see the C4 reality show given a fresh series later this year?
