Victoria Beckham Tells Vanity Fair No More Spice Girls – Posh Spice is on the cover of this month’s Vanity Fair in Italy and Spain and inside she the mag she tells why she won’t be involved in any more Spice Girls reunions.
It’s no secret that VB was the least keen of all the Spice Girls to get involved with the reunion and it is believed that it was only husband David’s strong links with the London Olympics team that persuaded her to go with the reunion plan.
These days she is not only there for her young family, which now includes super cute 2-year old daughter Harper, but is also in charge of an ever-growing fashion empire.
The VB fashion line is proving to be a huge hit with many celebrities and devotees of her clothing include Elle Macpherson, Cameron Diaz, Blake Lively and Demi Moore. The turnover of her fashion line more than doubled last year and as well as dresses VB is now also involved with shoes in a joint venture with Christian Louboutin as well as having her own line of handbags which includes the Harper.
In the Vanity Fair article talks about that Spice Girls London Olympics reunion and any future reunion plans saying: ‘I won’t ever do it again. Doing the Olympics was an incredible honour. I was so proud to do it; proud to be British. That was a perfect time to say, “That’s great. Thank you to everybody, but no more.” Sometimes you’ve got to know when it’s time to leave the party.’
VB does talk about how her past Spice Girls career has helped her with her new fashion business: ‘The Spice Girls were successful because we celebrated women. That’s why I do what I do today.’
In the last week VB has announced plans to open a brand new store on Dover Street in London. The new shop will also sell the companion range of Victoria Victoria Beckham as well as a range of accessories.
In addition to her UK plans it seems that Victoria is keen to keep her eye on the important US market with talk in Vogue that she is to open a new office in Chelsea in New York.
She is in the great position of being able to model her own range of clothing and with all the publicity that she and husband David get it provides a good excuse to make sure she is always wearing the latest releases from her range of fashions.
You can see from this earlier photo of Victoria that her sense of style has improved dramatically over the past few years.
You can read the entire VB interview and see all the photos when the new Vanity Fair issues go on sale in Spain tomorrow (21 January) and in Italy on Wednesday (22 January).
