Kate Winslet Gives Birth To Baby Boy – it has been announced that the Oscar-winning actress has given birth to a 9lb baby boy.
This is the 3rd child for the 38-year old but her first with new husband Ned Rocknroll. Her other children are 13-year old Mia with first husband Jim Threapleton and 9-year old Joe with her second husband the film director Sam Mendes.
Kate is believed to have given birth yesterday at a hospital in Sussex near her home.
Although she now has 3 children by 3 different men the actress is quite keen to point out that her children are her priority and that her philosophy on bringing them up is quite simple: ‘Being a parent turns you inside out. It completely transforms your life and, of course, your children are your absolute everything. My kids don’t go back and forth; none of this 50/50 time with the mums and dads, my children live with me; that is it. That is it.’
Kate’s latest movie, Labor Day, is due to be released in the UK in February next year. In the new movie Kate plays the part of Adele, a single mother, who gets caught up with a convict who is on the run from the authorities.
Labor Day also stars Josh Brolin and Tobey Maguire and is not to be confused with the 2009 movie short that tells the story of a 20-year-old who is struggling to get used to working after his college years.
Although Kate has been seen promoting the new movie a few weeks ago it will no doubt be a few weeks before she is back in the glare of the media spotlight.
The new baby comes almost exactly a year after the couple got married on Richard Branson’s luxury holiday resort Necker Island. As previously noted Ned is Richard Branson’s nephew and is employed at Virgin’s space travel company Virgin Galactic. The company is currently building the world’s first commercial spaceport in New Mexico, USA.
The first commercial space flights with Virgin Galactic are expected to take place some time next year and tickets for all space flights are a hefty $250k. There has one passenger granted a free seat, Professor Stephen Hawking.
