As reported here Rachel and partner Pasha Kovalev left the Strictly Come Dancing competition a few weeks ago after losing out in a dance-off with Rachel’s best Strictly friend Abbey Clancy.
It is no wonder that there is no time for a home life for Rachel as over the last few months she has been working on C4’s words and numbers programme Countdown, which goes out every weekday, since this summer she has also been co-hosting the technology programme The Gadget Show which is broadcast weekly and on top of all that she had been spending every other waking moment rehearsing for Strictly.
Rachel and husband Jamie Gilbert got married last August after meeting at Oxford University a number of years ago. They had previously split up for a while in 2009 but Jamie then proposed on Rachel’s 25th birthday.
Although earlier reports carried no official confirmation of the couple’s split, a report in the Mirror advised that a spokeswoman for Rachel had now confirmed the couple are no longer together.
The eagle-eyed may have spotted something was amiss in Rachel’s marriage as a look at her Twitter postings over the last month or two reveals no mention of husband Jamie.
Rachel’s public profile was given a huge boost by her appearance on Strictly this year and she will no doubt get plenty of offers of work to keep her busy over the coming months.
