Hunger Games: Catching Fire World Premiere, Red Carpet Photos – tonight was the world premiere of Hunger Games: Catching Fire, and the cast were all on view outside the Odeon Leicester Square in London.
The person most people were most keen to see was Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence who plays the main role of Katniss Everdeen as she did in the first movie. Apart from the usual reasons people want to see a beautiful movie star there was another thing on many people’s minds as Jennifer is showing off her new shorter hair style.
Just like Jennifer Aniston a few days ago Jennifer Lawrence has gone for a much shorter style than she has had for some while. Although she looked the epitome of style on the red carpet her unusual gown brought some mixed reactions. Whilst everyone was agreed the top half looked great with its nude back there was some disagreement over the lower half of the gown which featured what many described as a ‘Smartie’ design.
Jennifer was joined on the red carpet by the other stars of the movie including Josh Hutcherson who plays Peeta Mellark, Liam Hemsworth who plays Gale Hawthorne and Elizabeth Banks who plays Effie Trinket.
Elizabeth Banks certainly made sure that everyone remembered her gown as she arrived in a very bright yellow long yellow dress designed by Jason Wu. The gown featured 2 open panels showing off the actress’s trim waist and she was clearly enjoying the attention on tonight’s red carpet.
The award for the sexiest dress went to one of the artists on the soundtrack however and not a member of the acting cast. These days we are coming to expect something special from Ellie Goulding on the red carpet and she didn’t disappoint tonight.
Ellie wore what appeared to be a fairly standard looking black dress from the front but when she turned round she revealed it was completely backless and there was not much material at the sides, exposing some sideboob.
Ellie’s daring outfit comes just a day or two after she wore a see through black lace dress at the MTV European Music Awards in Amsterdam. She is featured on the Hunger Games: Catching Fire soundtrack singing the song Mirror.
Although the movie received its world premiere tonight it doesn’t go on general release here in the UK until 21 November with the US release date following the next day on 22 November. Reviews for the movie have been pretty good so far with the general feeling being that if you liked the first Hunger Games movie you will almost certainly love this one too.
