We could easily have guessed three of those taking front row seats as Kate Moss, supermodel royalty indeed, sat between Topshop owner Sir Phillip Green and his son Brandon. It was the lady sat the other side of Sir Phillip that grabbed most of the attention however as the supremo of world fashion comment Anna Wintour from American Vogue surprised many people as she took her seat.
For a fairly mainstream fashion line Topshop seems to have moved to the front of the line for many people during London Fashion Week.
The new collection on show has got some very positive reviews from fashion mags, newspaper columns and online fashion bloggers.
The Topshop Unique collection itself had plenty of silk items and the most prominent colour in the collection was blue. The other big theme was plenty of tops and dresses with either low backs or indeed no-backs.
Getting back to that all important front row if a collection is gain headlines it is often as much about who is watching as it is about what the catwalk models are wearing. Apart from Anna Wintour, Phillip and Brandon Green and Kate Moss you could also find the following on the Topshop front row:
- Daisy Lowe
- Pixie Geldof
- Sadie Frost
- Ellie Goulding
- Samantha Barks
- Haim (all 3 sisters)
- Harley Viera Newton
- Hayley Atwell
- Suki Waterhouse
On the runway there were also some big names headed by the rumoured new squeeze of a certain Mr Styles, Cara Delevingne and the ever stylish Jourdan Dunn.
Sir Phillip Green no doubt left with a big smile on his face as his high street fashion label secured the most high-profile names of any catwalk show during London Fashion Week. The Topshop name seems to have pulled off that rare feat of being affordable and also likely to be seen worn by any number of top celebrities. You can almost hear the Topshop tills starting to ring!
