As ever the most hotly contested category was that of Best Soap and this year it was ITV’s Coronation Street that took away the prize beating its big BBC soap rival Eastenders.
The ITV soap did not have things all its own way however as although Michelle Keegan took home the BEst Soap Actress award for her role as Tina McIntyre in Coronation Street the other 2 soap awards of the evening went the way of BBC’s Eastenders. Shane Richie won the Best Soap Actor award for playing the part of Alfie Moon while the Best Soap Newcomer award went to David Witts who plays the part of Joey Branning.
It was a good night for sci-fi favourite Doctor Who, which took home the awards for both Best Drama Series and also the 2013 Outstanding Contribution Award.
Best Talent Show went to Britain’s Got Talent which was represented by judge Amanda Holden who looked very classy in a classic LBD. She was one of a number of stars who went for a black number for the evening although some of the styles were less classic and less successful than others.
2 of the Made In Chelsea girls went the black dress route with Binky Felstead going for a fairly traditional long dress while Lucy Watson wore a far more unusual outfit which has a completely open front to the long dress exposing the tops of her stockings.
One of the most attractive outfits of the night came from Hollyoaks actress Claire Cooper who wore a dramatic long black gown with a plunging black lace front.
Not everyone went the formal route for the evening with Dancing On Ice judge and former Pussycat Doll Ashley Roberts wearing a shiny black crop top that exposed her abs teamed up with a very bright scarlet pair of cigarette pants and some nude heels.
