The former Bond girl was on morning tv show Lorraine today and was talking to presenter Helen Fospero about all of the letters she receives from young women and girls who write to her revealing how they find inspiration from her fuller figure.
Gemma looked great as she wore a tight white dress that showed off her hourglass figure. She said to Helen that she appreciated women come in all shapes and sizes and that this was ok.
She said that some of the letters she had received from young girls had made her cry as they told her “I used to have an eating disorder and I look at you and you inspire me to be normal.”
Gemma is currently talking to the media about her latest movie Byzantium in which she plays the part of Clara, a prostitute and vampire. Much of the film is concerned with the relationship between Gemma’s character and that of her daughter Eleanor who is played by actress Saoirse Ronan.
Gemma has described how her performance as Clara in the movie is a “love letter” to her own mother Sally-Anne, who brought up both Gemma and her sister Hannah as a single-mother. She sees the actions of Clara as showing how far a parent will go to protect their child and how it is a form of unconditional love.
Gemma’s body image is clearly seen as something to aspire to as she has appeared in lingerie, semi-nude or naked in several of her movie roles which include Tamara Drewe, Quantum of Solace, St Trinian’s, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time and her most controversial movie The Disappearance of Alice Creed.
