It was Hollywood week this week and the show started off with a dance number from the pros showing the best of the golden years of the silver screen and with Kristina’s knockout figure (apologies to Joe Calzaghe) who else would they choose to showcase but Miss Rihanoff.
It is not the first time since Kristina has been given the role of a Hollywood starlet as she was chosen to model the gold dress worn by Marilyn Monroe in Gentleman Prefer Blondes when she helped launch the Dressing Marilyn book last year.
On the main section of show this week it was Denise Van Outen and her dance partner James Jordan who had the best result of the night when they scored 32 points for their foxtrot danced to You’ve Got A Friend In Me from the hit movie Toy Story.
The second best scoring performance of the night came from Louis Smith and partner Flavia Cacace who closed the show with their salsa interpretation of the classic Dirty Dancing number (I’ve Had) The Time Of My Life. Darcey, Craig and Bruno all scored the routine 8 points, the same as they had scored Denise and James for their foxtrot earlier, but Len was less impressed and scored the pair just 6 saying it was a bit timid.
Least impressive showing of the night came from Sid Owen and partner Ola Jordan who failed to impress the judges with their tango to Here I Go Again from Rock Of Ages. The pair managed just 17 points for their dance well down from their previous score of 26 for their waltz. Sid seemed to be badly affected by the low score and looked glum for the rest of the show.
If Sid and Ola were gong the wrong way with their weekly scores then at the other end of the scale the most improved was last week’s dance off couple Richard Arnold and partner Erin Boag whose quickstep to 9 to 5 from the Dolly Parton movie scored them an impressive 25 points from the judges.
