The first Hangover film was a huge success after its release in 2009 and the new movie is to be set in Las Vegas, just the same as the original movie. The first Hangover movie became the highest-grossing R-rated comedy ever and won a Golden Globe award for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy. The 2011 sequel, The Hangover Part II, was even more successful at the box office, taking over $580 million (£375 million) worldwide.
Variety magazine is reporting that Graham’s character Jade will reunite with Ed Helm’s character Stu, who she married in the first Hangover outing. The meeting could be a little tense however as by the 2nd movie the couple had got divorced and Stu was marrying Lauren played by Jamie Chung.
The new Hangover movie is reported to feature The Wolf Pack, Bradley Cooper (Phil), Zach Galifianakis (Alan) and Ed, as well as seeing the return of former World Heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson.
Todd Philips is the writer/director of the new movie, which he has said will be the last in the series, as he was for the earlier outings and Hangover III is due to start filming next month. Todd said of the new movie: ”I’m so excited to embark on another ‘Hangover’ film with Bradley, Ed and Zach. We’re going to surprise a lot of people with the final chapter we have planned.
”It will be a fitting conclusion to our three-part opera of mayhem, despair and bad decisions.”
The UK release date for Hangover III is 24 May 2013.
