Clash of the rears – Kylie Minogue has issued a challenge to Pippa Middleton for the Best Bum Award at this weekend’s Diamond Jubilee Concert.
After last year’s Royal Wedding Kylie is clearly worried that her top bottom status may have been lost to the Duchess of Cambridge’s sister. Pippa seemed to be most males topic of conversation following the wedding and she has been in the media almost non-stop since last April.
If Pippa’s top bottom moment was when she was holding on to her sister’s wedding dress train at the Royal Wedding then Kylie’s is almost certainly her appearance in gold hot pants in the video for her single Spinning Around.
Kylie, who had her 44th birthday this week, was taking on the Alan Carr Chatty Man show and said that she thought she might have to have a “bum-off” with Pippa. “I’ll definitely have to be like ‘Oh!”, drop something and pick it up off the ground!”
Kylie will be singing at this weekend’s Diamond Jubilee Concert and although it is not known if Pippa will be in the audience we do know that she will be making an appearance at the Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant this Sunday. The Pageant will see a number of craft make their way down the Thames arriving at Tower Bridge around 6pm.
Kylie was talking to Alan about her sister Dannii’s recent problems and also said to him that whilst she would consider acting as a judge on The Voice she was a million per cent sure that she would not go on The X Factor. This is almost certainly linked to how she feels Simon Cowell treated her sister with the revelations in his recent biography.
Incidentally although we don;t know the secret to Kylie’s pert little bottom we do know that Pippa puts her good shape down to a regular Pilates class in Fulham which she credits with not only giving her muscle tone but also helping with breathing and relaxation.
You can hear more from Kylie on Alan Carr Chatty Man tonight on ITV at 10pm with the show also featuring Kaiser Chiefs and Little Mix.
We wait with interest to see who will take Carol Vorderman‘s Rear of the Year title this year.
Noomi Rapace in Prometheus – the 32-year old Swedish actress has been talking about her role in Prometheus the new Ridley Scott movie.
Noomi plays the part of Elizabeth Shaw, a space archaelogist, who together with a colleague finds a star map which is then used to look for the forerunners of the human race aboard the spaceship Prometheus.
She is of course best known to cinema audiences as Lisbeth Salander from The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo series of movies. These considerably raised her profile in the movie industry and her name was linked with a number of different projects including Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol. Her first English-speaking role was as a gypsy in 2011’s Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows.
The UK premiere of Prometheus took place yesterday at the Empire Leicester Square and the film is on general release here from today. It is expected to do extremely well over this Bank Holiday weekend as it is one of the most anticipated movie releases of the year.
Prometheus has been conceived by Ridley Scott as a prequel to his 1979 sci-fi classic Alien. He has already been talking about a sequel to Prometheus which could get very confusing with fans looking forward to the release of a prequel’s sequel!
Rapace said that some of the filming for Prometheus left her suffering from nightmares. “It really messed me up, I got the worst, crazy, disturbed dreams for a week or something so it really felt like I had stepped into some kind of nightmarish hell.”
Prometheus also stars Michael Fassbender, Guy Pearce and Charlize Theron.
