The baby boy is the first child for Huq and columnist and presenter Charlie Brooker. They have named the baby Covey and he weighed in at 6lb 2oz when he was born at a London hospital.
They are both clearly pleased with the new arrival whose full name is Covey Brooker Huq and Konnie said: “A real cutie. We are chuffed to bits, he is absolutely gorgeous!!”
The couple just got married at The Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas in 2010 and Konnie had previously said that she was keen to start a family soon after getting married but she had put her plans on hold when she landed the Xtra Factor presenting job for ITV2.
It may just be the start of a whole line of Brooker Huqs as Konnie said when asked about their plans for a family: ‘I do like big families. Watch this space.’
The pair originally met when Konnie appeared in an episode of Brooker’s Screenwipe programme in 2008 but at this stage Cupid had not seemed to have fired his little arrows at the couple. Huq had dated fellow presenter Richard Bacon for 6 years before getting together with Brooker.
The couple’s famous mansion in Hertfordshire is thought to be being put up for sale with a price tag expected around £18M.
As well as the UK property it also rumoured they are to sell their home in France as they look to settle down permanently in LA where they have made the family’s home for the last few years.
David has recently extended his contract with LA Galaxy and the whole family love the US lifestyle.
Once the 2 properties are sold there is talk of them buying a smaller London home so Victoria can continue her work with the fashion trade in the UK.
The couple bought Beckingham Palace shortly after getting married in 2009 and look likely to lose some money on the property as they have paid out around £18m on improvements to the property with additions such as a new pool, tennis courts and a gym.
The Beckhmas have always made no secret that their family is most important to them and now all of the children are so well settled in America they seem keen to give them continuity and travel around less than they did in the past.
They are certainly not selling up because they need the money as the couple are conservatively worth around £165m and Victoria’s fashion business is going from strength to strength.
